The Sustainable Packaging Alliance (SPA) helps you consider sustainability when making decisions about packaging systems.  We draw on our industry, academic and Government experience and networks, to provide tools, knowledge and training in packaging sustainability.  We help you understand where and how your decisions impact the use of resources (energy, waste, land) and production of waste and greenhouse gases.  We help you apply this knowledge to benefit society, your business and the environment.

(PIQET) 

SPA is the global provider of PIQET - a business tool used for rapid environmental impact assessments of packaging. PIQET is uniquely designed to integrate into existing packaging design, development and optimisation processes allowing environmental sustainability to be considered alongside other design criteria (function, cost and marketing) and, providing easy identification and prioritisation of strategies to reduce the environmental impact of packaging. PIQET is also used as a training tool to build understanding of the life cycle impacts of packaging and to develop capability for businesses to make more sustainable decisions.
